Salt Rock is the village between Sheffield Beach and Shaka's Rock. It has beachfront homes, the village centre and estates such as Tanglewood.

Salt Rock is in our first launch zone, so fundis there will be a short trip from Ballito and Sheffield Beach.

• Near the sea, salt air speeds up rust on brake parts, battery terminals and underbodies, so coastal cars need checks more often.
• Many estates restrict vehicle repairs in driveways. Check your estate rules and tell us when you request, so the mechanic can plan.
• Cars left standing in holiday homes often have flat batteries or perished tyres. A quick check before you drive home saves a tow.

Registrations

Mobile mechanics aren't legally registered like electricians, but we flag membership of the RMI (Retail Motor Industry Organisation) or its MIWA mechanics' association, trade-test (Red Seal) certificates and MIBCO-registered employers on the fundi's profile, and we check ID and two references. Work happens at your home, so we ask fundis for proof of public liability cover where they have it.
